Detailed timetable

 

week 9- 13 sept : introduction to the project : Befter :

  • subject : Climate change & food
  • exchange project with the Wirtschaftschule KV Wetzikon, Zurich, Switzerland
  • enrolment on “the Horse 2019/20”, communication & information & working platform
  • exercise to discover the different properties of The Horse
  • comment writing : check out and search in "The giant Horse" = knowledge pool / pool*today
  • write a comment on the horse : dontwastemyenergy
  • present your self to the Swiss students / how can you become a team ?
  • take a picture of your own main meal, post it on the horse
  • find a newspaper article giving comment on climate change and food

 

week 16 – 20 sept : lesson 1 : impacts and causes of climate change

  • teacher information / students study photos and graphs, communicate to each other
  • activity : ask students to take picture of own main meal
  • put it on the horse before lesson 2

 

week 23 – 24 sept : lesson 2 : adaption and mitigation

  • activity : discussion starting from pictures of own main meal
  • use own meal to explain concepts of adaptation and mitigation
  • produce a proposal before lesson 3, put a page on “the Horse”

adaptation : climate changed, your food is still available

mitigation : choose your food is a way you prevent the further changing of the climate

 

students work in groups of 2 or 3 to investigate concepts, connected to food adaptation and mitigation

 

choose a project to investigate / use the horse to investigate

investigate adaptation of mitigation possibilities and food

start up / imagination / team discussion /

 

produce a proposal before lesson 3, present proposal in lesson 3 (to Belgian students),
put it on the horse, ask for comment from the Swiss students

 

week 30 sept – 4 oct lesson 3

  • present proposal in lesson 3 (to Belgian students ), ask for comment
  • investigate adaptation of mitigation possibilities and food
  • start up / imagination / team discussion / work on a strategy in lesson 3
  • realize a contact with an expert

 

week 7 – 11 okt / 14 – 18 / 21 – 25 oct : lesson 4 /5 / 6 food security in the world

 

Week 4 – 8 nov : Post your investigation on “the Horse”

Week before end november : Give and get comment from Swiss students (at least once a week), Improving and enhancing through collaboration.

From 5th - 16th  january : Include comments and improve your investigation, present your work "life" in class, Propagate your presentation on “dontwastemy.energy”.
