a/ Signs
Students get pictures and texts (also available on smartschool) both describing the impacts of climate change.

Half of the group gets a picture, the other half has the description of the picture.

b / Signs – Indicators
Work in pairs : Your text/picture is a sign of climate change ? Which sign / Which indicator ?

Use the information of figure 2.1.

 

c / Table – Sign – Indicator
On Fig 2.2 you can find a set tables of indicators of a changing global climate.

Which table fits your sign of climate change?
Be able to describe the evolution of the indicator (to yourself, to class).

 

d / Why is this happening ?
Use information of table 2.3a en 2.3b and your knowledge of Green house effect.
Add extra information from https://ec.europa.eu/clima/change/causes_en


e/ What does the future hold ?
Use information of table 2.4 and both following websites.

What can be done to prevent further changing of the climate ? Mitigation

What can be done to adapt to the changed climate ? Adaptation
