Welcome to the T&U autumn term 2019/20
There are two parts that we use to do our work
- This "closed platform" called "The horse" (here you are:)
A learning and working website with a personal login for each student
- The Public website www.dontwastemy.energy
Goal: The elaborated students' contributions [Projektbeiträge] will be published on this public website.
What it is & what it offers
- You can apply (anwenden) & practice your English skills in a real project (orally, writing, researching)
=>mistakes are allowed and have no influence on your grading
- Improve/use your communication skills, sometimes even with students from another culture/country(!)
- Team work: organize & plan your contribution, collect experience in a real life project
- Use and learn about modern media (Blog-, Content Management Systems (CMS)
- Choose a topic that interests you (so you can deepen your knowledge in a topic that matters to you)
- Go as deep as you can into the topic that you've chosen - it's up to you!
- There are a lot of soft skills that count (e.g. cooperation, communication, fairness, etc.)
- you can try out how it is to do an interview, making a video, audio or what you think makes sense for your contribution (keep your teacher informed)
- You get room for decision making, experiments and creativity
What it is not
- T&U bili lessons are no English lessons, I'm not an English teacher but I'm experienced in using English as a communication tool for national and international projects.
- This is not a classical "teacher-centred teaching" [Frontalunterricht]
- I will not always say what you have to do or what you don't have to do (because you are responsible for your own work)
Rules & remarks
- You get some freedom to realize your project, I expect you to behave responsibly! [verantwortungsbewusst]
- The final aim is your contribution on the project website www.dontwastemy.energy
- We will help and support you if necessary to realize your project.
- "The Horse" is still an experiment! => Please help to improve, give feedback, ideas are welcome!
- Sometimes there are some difficulties to realize the project, with the team dynamics, etc. => please try to learn from these situations in a constructive way and do not hesitate to ask your teacher for help.
- Always keep the teacher informed about every step you plan or tools/media you use.
