Apples and pears - Zurich fruit varieties market
During the "Obstsortenmarkt" or "fruit varieties market" at the Botanical Garden of Zurich over 60 varieties of apples and pears can be tasted and bought on the last Saturday in October! Apart from apples and pears there are nuts and sweet chestnuts (Kastanien, Maroni) as well as various conserved products in dried or liquid form. Organizations such as Pro Specie Rara (prospecierara.ch) and fructus.ch are present with samples, books and friendly staff offering information.
