Team Transportation: Propagation

 Hey!

Did you know that every day for the satisfaction of our needs about 6000 cargo ships are on the way? With them, goods can be transported from A to B in a targeted manner. In addition, about 20,000 containers can be shipped per ship. They are fundamental to today's globalization. On this link you can watch the ships live on a radar.

Do you know what the biggest difficulties in cargo shipping are? What do you know about the sustainability of products in overseas transport? Do you also know how many containers are lifted and moved every day only in the port of Rotterdam? Do you know what position shipping in the world takes?

Imagination in 100 Years

Hey!
Today we asked ourselves the question how the maritime transportation in 100 years looks like.

we think the ships are not going to get bigger, because in the ports and canals (Suez and Panama canal) it would be tight for maneuvers. However, we believe that the ships will be using more sustainable fuel. Thus could be dispensed with heavy oils.

We could imagine that goods would also change because the world will continue to develop and become more interconnected during this time.

The fact that the sea level will rise rapidly in the next few years, we can assume that the increased water, new trade routes for shipping arise.

Even the autonomous driving on the oceans could be or become an issue. However, it might be difficult to give the necessary security. When the barges are so alone on the oceans, they are as lost as they are.

Organic Farming

" A nation that destroys its soils destroys itself. Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people.”

- Franklin D. Roosevelt

In my initial post ,  i had introduced my idea which includes looking into the agricultural methods used by the farmers in my country currently. By this we will have an idea on whether the farming methods used are harmful or not and while researching for this I had found many articles on the net :-

These are just some of the many articles present out there which More...

Speedy post: Nashi-Pear

Nashi-Pear (Pyrus pyrifolia var. culta) also called Apple-Pear or Asian-Pear originate from the Rosaceae family (Rosengewächs) and was raised in China. Its name is japanese as "nashi" means pear (fun fact: We call it "pear-pear" 😄). In Japan there are 1'000 to 1'200 different sorts. They are mainly cultivated in East-Asia but in todays time also in Europe, South America and other parts of the world. This is because this species is able to abide temperatures up to minus 20 degrees celsius, therefore this plant also survives the cold swiss winters outside. The more sun and the less wind the better and profitable the harvest. The bountiful crop can be gathered in August/September. The nashi-pear consist more water than pears originated in Europe but the nutritional values are about the same. The trees don't have a gender, they are all hybrids and nontoxic.
