Showcase Carsharing

I took the topic carsharing and did some research about it. In my calculation I assumed, that two person can share one car. I calculated with the data of one VW Golf. To produce one VW Golf you need 22'000 kWh of energy. If you compare 10 people who do carsharing to 10 people who aren’t doing carsharing, you can see that we save 50% energy by doing carsharing. Of course not every person would be able to do carsharing, because he needs his car too much or he lives somewhere, where you can only get to by car. I assume that 60% of all the people which are having a car could also do carsharing. So in the real world we could save 30% energy by doing carsharing.

In the year 2019 67 Million cars where produced. If we do carsharing we would have produced 20 Million less cars. If we do the same calculation like we did before, we can see that we would save 440 billion kWh of energy. This is enought energy to supply switzerland for 7 years. As you can see carsharing could save a lot of energy.

Part 2 - Businessplan

Hello everyone

Down below you can find our businessplan for our project "Accessoires-Sharing".

1 Executive Summary

Selina Lehmann and I, Julia Hartmann recently came up with the idea of starting our own company. We chose a GmbH because we can be very flexible. With our company we want to lend people for weddings, confirmations, celebrations and other occasions, jewelry in a qualitative and affordable way. The borrowed jewelry can also be bought after the event. So you don't always have to go to the store and buy it directly, you can also borrow it for a short time and bring it back. Of course, we will clean them after using it so that they look like new again.

2 Founder Profile

Selina Lehmann

Ms. Lehmann is completing her commercial apprenticeship this year. Now she wants to reorient herself and start something completely new. Selina Lehmann is already very familiar with jewelry and knows how to make it.

Julia Hartmann

Ms. Hartmann is also completing her commercial apprenticeship this year and would like to reorient. Since Ms. Lehmann had the same idea, we decided to found SLJH-Accessories GmbH together. Julia Hartmann also has a very good knowledge of jewelry.

3 Business Idea

Our company orders certain products from well-known suppliers, such as Swarovski, Rolex, etc., but we also provide some ourselves. The products can also be made to customer requirements. We want to guarantee high quality and quantity by working only with real silver and gold. The loan should be free, although you can also buy the product cheaply after use. Our products can be picked up directly from our warehouse or ordered online. Our added value is that we can promote sharing. So you don't have to spend money on expensive jewelry for a wedding day. In addition, everyone has the opportunity to buy the product later. Online shipping is also free.

4 Organization and Legal Form

4.1 Organization

4.2 Employees

Selina Lehmann and Julia Hartmann lead the company SLJH-Accessories GmbH. One person is always employed in other departments. All employees have attended a higher technical school and are very familiar with their function.

4.3 Legal Form

Due to flexibility, we have chosen the legal form company with limited liability.

5 Target Group

Our target group includes private customers of all ages and gender is irrelevant.

Best wishes,

Selina and Julia

sharing streaming platforms

Hi guys,

Our goal was to find out if you can share account on streaming platforms. We found this out, because according to an Netflix employee, the terms of conditions and various other sources, it is not forbidden to share an account. It is not intended to do so, but it is not explicitly prohibited. But you can only share it, if you pass on the passwords. It's up to you whether you do it.

Best regards

Michel and Cem

book sharing on Instagram

Hello everyone,

besides the website and the tree library we found another useful way to share books. A high school graduate has created an Instagram account where books are sold at a fair price and are even partly new. The goal of this account is to recycle for the sake of the environment. The target group are high school students (Gymnasium, BMS, FMS, etc.) We looked at this account and realized that we could have benefited from it. Many books and readings that we had to buy for the school are sold here cheaper and used. We are a bit disappointed that we didn't discover this site earlier...But now we can advertise a bit and hope other students can benefit from it. Just search for "simplebooksclub" on Instagram. If you find a book you need, you can contact the admin (direct message or comment). Hopefully we can try it soon.

Have fun and best regards,

Maria & Deniz

Book sharing website

Hello everybody

Another way to share books besides the tree library is the website book crossing (https://www.bookcrossing.com/about). Though the website you can exchange books and you can even get in touch with persons who already read the book. In our opinion it’s a great and modern way to reuse books. The book crossing website is available in 132 countries and there are 13'276'191 book which are crossing the world. Book sharing websites are very common in countries like the USA or Germany. All you have to do is to create an account on bookcrossing.com and you’re able to share your books.

Best regards,

Deniz and Maria

Step 4 - Part 1

Hello everyone

Finally we did our calculation, the buissnessplan and the organigramm. We will publish these three things in two parts.

Everything is to be considered as if we were founding a company. Of course everything is only fictitious.

The calculation was not very easy because it is very difficult to find the exact number of grams of material in a necklace. Because of this, we did the whole thing in a text.

In any case, we assume that a neckless is made of 18ct, which corresponds to 3.6 g yellow gold. Carat describes the density of fine gold. In the picture below we describe how the process of winning gold might look like. If we now assume that these chains are sold ten times, the effort is logically ten times greater. On the picture you can also see a truck that transports rock. From one ton of rock 3-5 grams of gold can be processed. Let us assume that a ring with 3 grams of gold needs one ton. For 10 rings, it takes six tons of rock. Suppose a truck can transport one ton and has to go this way six times. By driving less, you can avoid producing less CO2, which is better for the environment.

Car sharing

Hello

Working from home wasn't easy for us. We tried to do our best. With our car sharing project, we want to show you how you can save lots of materials by sharing cars. I mean did you know, that every car is made out of 10'000 different materials? Iron by itself has a average weight of 600 kg per car. By removing the carbon during smelting, it is hardened and processed into steels with different strengths.

It is very interesting, how many things you can save by not using a car or by using a car when you have to. With our car sharing app, we showed you how you can do that with just a few clicks. It is very simple. The app could be something that could change a lot in our environment. We did a sketch on how the app could look like.

Of course, not everyone can dispense a car. But everyone should at least try to drive not drive to everywhere they go. Use bycicles or go on foot when you can.

Step 3 - Experiences

Hello everyone

We are still in the process. Nevertheless we want to share our experiences with you. The teamwork is going quite well, although we can only work from home.

It's not as easy as we thought, regarding to the materials of jewellery, the necklace comes in many different variations, moreover the exact materials are not always described.

But we try to do the best possible.

Kind regaredes

Julia and Selina

book sharing - step 3 (experience)

Hello together,

we actually had a good start. When the lockdown followed and we weren't sure for a long time what would happen with our graduation, communication and teamwork became more difficult. About a month ago we found out that there were no final exams. For this reason we were able to devote ourselves to this project without any stress. During the past weeks we learned how much energy it takes to produce an iPad and a book, that there is a tree library in Hinwil and what other possibilities there are to share the books. We will publish the report soon. But we can say that it was still an instructive and interesting time, although it was not easy either.

Best regards,

Maria & Deniz
