Showcase Carsharing

I took the topic carsharing and did some research about it. In my calculation I assumed, that two person can share one car. I calculated with the data of one VW Golf. To produce one VW Golf you need 22'000 kWh of energy. If you compare 10 people who do carsharing to 10 people who aren’t doing carsharing, you can see that we save 50% energy by doing carsharing. Of course not every person would be able to do carsharing, because he needs his car too much or he lives somewhere, where you can only get to by car. I assume that 60% of all the people which are having a car could also do carsharing. So in the real world we could save 30% energy by doing carsharing.

In the year 2019 67 Million cars where produced. If we do carsharing we would have produced 20 Million less cars. If we do the same calculation like we did before, we can see that we would save 440 billion kWh of energy. This is enought energy to supply switzerland for 7 years. As you can see carsharing could save a lot of energy.

Goal of today

Hello together

Today I want to research what projects do already exist for future car-sharing systems and how they look like. Then I want to also research how much energy this would save.

Project Idea

Hello Together

I had the Idea to do my project about the topic "How will the Transport-sharing-system of the future look like?".

I think there are a lot of different ways, how the transport-sharing-System in the future will look like. I think the best way to share cars is, that there is a System, with wich you are able to find other peope, who drive in the same dirction. Then you can share the car to save Energy. Of corse, the cars would drive autonomic, so not only one Person has to drive the car. I think you can use this System also with planes or boats.

In recent years there has been a lot of discussion in politic and media about food waste. Some countries have made laws to reduce food-waste. In France supermarkets aren’t allowed waste food. They have to give it for free to homeless people before they waste the food. In Germany they have similar laws for food waste like France. In Switzerland we don’t have any laws for food waste in supermarkets. Here they are allowed to throw away what they want.

Planning 29.11.2019

- We will prepare our interview questions, so we are ready for the interview.

- We start to write a text with the informations we collected over the last weeks.

- We will talk to Ms. Suter to share our experience till yet.

- Search an other team with a similar topic so we can share our experience.

- Find out more about food-waste in supermarkets.

Concept collaboration project

How much food gets wasted in our supermarkets?

We want to find out how much food get wasted in our supermarkets and how we can reduce food waste.

We will interview owners of supermarkets about foodwaste in their shops. We will search solutions how we can reduce food waste in supermarkets and as well at home. We will research why exactly so much food get wasted. Is it because the best before date or is it because we have too much food?
