**A happy new year to all of you!**
Let's start with something we think is an important theme.
Christmas time and New Years Eve are over now and a lot of you received beautiful presents or made great gifts by your own to the persons you love.
Can you remember the way the presents were wrapped in?
A lot of the bought gifts are firstly packed in plastic and afterwards in a cardboardbox. Don’t forget the gift wrapping paper in the next step, fixed with adhesive tape which is made out of plastic.
Not only the gifts are packed in plastic. Take a look to the grocery stores. A huge amount of different food is just waiting to be bought on Christmas. The plastic packed chocolate, all the candy, the meat and other edible specialities. Plastic packaging everywhere.
What we can influence in these industries is a very limited part. But what we can change is our own mindset and behaviour. So please help our environment with less packaging and buy something useful instead. For example a little sheet of cloth to wrap the presents. Afterwards it can be used for decoration or as a wiping cloth.
There are many different possibilities how a present could be wrapped in nicely. Here some examples:
A gift wrapped in newspapers or
a present packed in with a sheet of cloth and including the instructions
We hope we could give you some nice ideas for the next birthday present packagings and could motivate the one and other to overthink and change the behaviour a little bit.
