Plastic waste? What is that?

First of all, what is plastic? It is a durable material that takes up to 450 decompose. It is estimated that 3-10% of the 300 million tonnes produced every year end up directly in the oceans.

How can you reduce using plastic? Try not to use plastic bags. Require a bag made of fabric instead. And in place of plastic bottles buy a bottle, which is a little expensive but one that you can use for a long time. Say no to plastic utensils and avoid microbeads.

In this picture you see how much plastic there is on the ground. We have to act now so that it doesn't get worse than it is.

When we searched for the answer, we didn't find a exact number of how many plastic there is. So the correct answer to our quiz question is:
    1. no exact number

    Hi Nicole and Zeynep Smile
First of all, I think your topic is very up-to-date and an issue that concerns everyone. I learned new ways to reduce my plastic consumption and I will try to do it. Your translation of the vocab was very helpful and you chose a good picture. It was an interesting fact that there is no exact number of how many types of plastic are in the world.

    hey Girls
you both chose a theme which is really a problem in today's present day. I think it's really hard to avoid consuming platic because it's everywhere ! And you cant' really avoid consuming no plastic AT ALL... the picture seems like it's fake but it's the reality which scares me a bit. Your facts have awakened me to reduce my plactic consumption. It's a short post with a huge impact to finally change the humans thinking. Thank you for the post, I have nothing to complain about

    Hello Nicole & Zeynep
I really like how you explained the topic plastic waste. It's great that you wrote about the importance of reducing plastic waste and that you gave specific examples on how each one of us can do that. The picture you chose is very meaningful and shows perfectly how badly plastic is damaging our planet. Additionally, I really liked the question you chose because it confirms that there are so many different types of plastic that it is not even known. This makes this whole subject way more dramatic. Because how can we reduce something when we don't even know the numbers? However, I will try to reduce the waste of plastic and will stop using plastic bags just like you suggested.

    Kind regards
    Sandro

    Hey Nicole & Zeynep

The topic you chose is very important for our society. Together we can reduce plastic waste. Plastic waste is a big issue especially for the environment and the animals. Your text motivated me to buy a fabric bag. The picture shows the terrible impact of plastic waste on our planet. Your audio was also very good and understandable. It motivated me to click on your post on the horse website. You did a great job!!!

    regards, Giorgio
