Nowadays Food is wasted everywhere. And it's not only food that is wasted, but many, many resources that were used in the production of the food, whether it's water, soil or labour. This waste is bad for the environment.
An example: with every kilo of bread that is not consumed, 1000 litres of water is wasted. Global food waste is responsible for 8% of greenhouse emissions. Every year, more than 2.8 million tonnes of food is thrown away in Switzerland alone - whether in the fields, in restaurants or at home. Over half of this is an avoidable waste! For example, a person spends an average of CHF 600 per year on food that has to be thrown away.

I have read about the organisation "Too Good To Go" and I was really inspired by their work. It is a very good idea to collect unused food that is still useful and pass it on to others so that as much food as possible is not wasted. In my opinion food sharing is the best option to avoid food waste.
