Sustainable Hotels - details about the project

The theme has many different aspects to cover as the range of possibilities is fairly wide. The main ideas we would like to focus on with our project is either the way a hotel could save resources focusing on plants and food or how to (re)use and what to do with them. 
 
Questions to solve:
  • Do hotels import a lot of food or do they often use local products, reasons? Food Waste - how do hotels deal with this today, are there any ideas how to reduce it in future?
  • Which kind of plant is the most efficient "photosynthesis maker"? Which is the most appropriate species to keep in hotels, why or why not? What kind of projects are possible to do with plants?

Material:

  • Laptop / PC including internet access
  • Paper and pencil

Possibly problems:

  • different time-zones between countries
  • lose ourselfs in the huge range of possibilities, what would expand the project
  • internet connection problems
Timeline:
  • 1 - 2 Weeks: get a more detailed idea/plan for the project with key points to focus on
  • 3 - 5 Weeks: survey, interview, research and do a draft
  • 5 - 7 Weeks: write a detailed report
