Have you ever been to a farm checking out how apples are growing? An apple is always worth it since all of us know: "An apple a day keeps the doctor away." We went to a local farmer recently, he showed us the plantation and told us about the harvest. It was very interesting to gain more knowledge about the relation between climate and the apple lifecycle. Stay with us and we keep you posted, cheers!

Currently we're working on the subject matter of the waste that is produced on flights. In the attachement you see how far we've come.

Hi everyone,
I want to get your attention. There was an earthquake with a magnitude of 6,4! I was in Albania and I know that the people and the government does not have the money tho re-build all the damage! 28 people are dead and over 300 are missing. Many people lost their home and need help.

Hello everybody,
Today I saw an interesting report on Blick.ch which I would like to share with you.The report mentions which food needs how many litres of water. More...
On Wednesday 13th November 2019 we interviewed a local farmer, named Martin Keller. He is a orchard grower (= Obstbauer) but also owns and raises cute animals. He took us around and showed us the farm. There were apple and pear trees, apricot trees, plum trees, cherry trees, strawberry and some raspberry bushes. We realized how less we know about apples. The harvest has just finished and will start again in July.More...
Dear Cowboys and Cowgirls
For our Project "Airplane food and it's production" we reached out to GateGourmet, the company which produces the majority of airplane food in Switzerland. In the attachement you'll find the mail we've sent them.
GateGourmet.docx (13,60 kb)
For the international cowboys and cowgirls which don't understand german we leave you the questions that we've asked GateGourmet below:
- How can a salad stay fresh in 10’000 meters a.s.l.?
- Does the food lose it’s healthy ingredients?
- Do the producers look out for seasonal and resourceable meals?
- How much energy do they need to reheat the meals in the aircraft?
There is some more work in progress sooo stay tuned!
Regards
Jeffrey & Loris
Hello!
For our project the lifecycle of a local product, we will use the information of our interviews as well as information of the internet. I found a very good website. On the website, we can find a lot information about the plant "apple" as well as about the production and the storage etc.
Here you can find the website: Website Topic apple
If you are intersted take a look on it or better trace the developments of our Project!

Research is a very important step in our project. We already contacted someone from the industry which can give us more information. Additionally, we already contacted our interview person. Furthermore, we are in contact with flight attendants which can give us information about the process on board. I work for the Airline Swiss therefore we have an advantage in which we are able to get in touch with the responsible persons easily.
Of course, we will also make our investigation in the internet and we already did some. A lot of information are available in the specific industries newspaper. Although there are not much data on the internet, we are also well connected that we can get every information.
We would be delighted if we hear something from the other students to make our topic more interesting.
We will get some photos how the crew prepares the food and how they reheat the meal on board.
