Team Local Product made a video

Hi you,

You might have read our post from the filming day with a drone. During winter holidays we collected different pieces of videos and the next step was now to put them together to a nice video.

First of all, we had to decide on which pieces we really want to use for the video, we trimmed them to good sizes to make sure everything fits together as well as found a relaxing music track. The video has been put together with the program "Filmora9" with help of a friend (as it was also his program). This part was very time comsuming as it was not as easy as though to decide on "the best" material. After having trimmed them, we adjusted the speed of the different parts and inserted pictures with quotes from the interview, whichs' spelling had been checked by another friend before.

The finale post on befter will follow soon.

Perfect sized apple?

Any apple with a calibre smaller than 7cm or bigger than 8cm is classified as "2nd Class". Why? In schools all kind of sizes are welcomed since every child prefer a different apple, however, grocery shops only order the "perfect sizes". What do you think about it?

Please let us know your thoughts!

Filming Day on the Farm - drone video

Some weeks ago we did an interview with the Farmer, Mr Keller. As pictures and videos bring closer looks into projects, we decided to go for it. A friend of mine flies drons and offered us new opportunities for the project.

On Thursday, 2nd January 2020 the day finally came, it was an incredibly cold afternoon, after two hours of filming, the feet were already frozen and of course the hands as well. We were really happy and lucky to get a cup of tea afterwards to defrost ourselves.

The filming was very interesting, the drone flew from here to there, back, and did some turns... absolutely flexible! Check our finale post on befter (coming soon) to watch the video.

Cheers,

Simone, Tamara, Stefanie

Recycled winter lights

Who doesn't like the beautiful lights during Advent season?

Walking from school back to the train station we relalized the beautiful winter lights made of recycled material - what a great idea, isn't it?

As we enjoyed them pretty much on our ways during the cold, dark evenings we wanted to share it with you:

Wishing all of you a wonderful Christmas time!

Warm wishes from Wetzikon,

Step 1 - Imagination: Local Product

Our ideas work like a "multiplicator-effect" as they go hand in hand..

In our future, there will be more local production raised everywhere in Switzerland, hence, short paths of distribution will be given. Therefore, also direct purchase from farmer to clients will be more promoted than today. Encouraging national products - swiss apples - incstead of imports, will not only help increasing the amount of growing apples but also gross domestic product (GDP/BIP).

Lifecycle of a local product "Interview with a farmer" - Step 3 Experience

On Wednesday 13th November 2019 we interviewed a local farmer, named Martin Keller. He is a orchard grower (= Obstbauer) but also owns and raises cute animals. He took us around and showed us the farm. There were apple and pear trees, apricot trees, plum trees, cherry trees, strawberry and some raspberry bushes. We realized how less we know about apples. The harvest has just finished and will start again in July.More...

Project Idea: Sustainable Hotels

 Hi you,

Tourism creats a big income for the country. However, it's also a part which causes pollution and destroys the nature. Maybe there is a possibility to get a better balance for this sector? Check my recording about sustainable hotels to get an idea what my thoughts for an upcoming project is and let me know your feedback.

Best regards, Stefanie Kunz

Opinion about recording meals

Our mission was to track everything we eat during one week and upload pictures to a website.

Despite the fact that I was already familiar with recording my nutrition, training and so on, it was fairly interesting to do it again. It took me a bit longer for the preparation of my meals because I wanted to get nice pictures. I am very interested in seeing the outcome of the class as well as to analyze different reference point across the world.
