Hello everybody,
Since I work for a Swiss washing machine and tumble dryer manufacturer (Schultess Maschinen AG), I had the idea to create a post about energy efficiency of today's washing machines.
Below I show you a comparison of a washing machine from Schultess and one from V-Zug one of our biggest competitors.
Schulthess:
model: Spirit 540

energy category: A+++ (-40%)*
* 40% better than you should have for category A+++, which is the best category that exists at the moment.
kWh/year: 118
litres water/year: 9900
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
V-Zug:
model: Adora V4000

energy category: A+++ (-30%)*
* 30% better than you should have for category A+++, which is the best category that exists at the moment.
kWh/year: 132
litres water/year: 9900
These two devices come from the same category. They both have a drum volume of 8 kg and are suitable for single-family houses.
As you can see the water consumption is exactly the same for both manufacturers. In my opinion, the manufacturers will strive to further reduce water consumption in order to gain an advantage over the competition and also for the protection of the environment.
I hope you like my post.
Kind regards,
Raffael
