How do I convert Kcal or kJ to kWh?
For the conversion of the different energy units the following table could be helpful:
I calculated this once on a Farmer bar:
On the packaging of the bar I can read the kJ value. In my case it is 500 kJ for 26 grams.
Now I have to convert this 500 kJ into kcal:
500 kJ x 0.2388 = 119.4 kcal
If I want to get from the calculated kcal to the kWh, I have to proceed as follows:
119.4 kcal x 0.001163 = 0.139 kWh
I can also do the same directly from kJ to kWh:
500 x 0.000278 = 0.139 kWh
As you can see now, there is the same result.
