Food wast in our supermarkets

Hello together,

Our projectidea was to find out more about food waste in our big and small supermarkets here in Switzerland and around the world.

What are the differences between big and small supermarkets?

Which effect does the food waste have on climate change?

And what can be possible solutions?

We would like it if you share your experiences with us.

Kind regards,

Anja and Nathan

    Hello Anja and Nathan

I'm very interested in your project idea! Food waste is very important for all of us and also nice to discuss with each other. Selina and I have a similar project idea, so maybe we can put our ideas together and do one project.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Smile

    Hello Anja and Nathan,
I think that you have chosen a super exciting topic. The waste of food is a big topic especially in wealthy countries.
I think it could be exciting if you don't restrict your topic to supermarkets only, but also examine private households. Also a comparison as for example, with the thrown away food your able to nourish xy people in the year, would be interesting.
I'm already looking forward to an exciting report about your findings.
    Kind Regards
    Lars

    Hi Anja and Nathan
You have chosen a really interesting project as it is a global "problem" which also effects the future. Additionally, it might be adventurous to investigate the more and less exclusive supermarkets (i.e. Aldi vs. Globus) to proof or contrast prejudices?
Wishing you fun and success for your project!

    Dear Anja and Nathan,
    That‘s very interesting Smile
Maybe you can choose one big supermarket like Migros and one small supermarket like Denner and compare them. It would be interesting to find out if a big supermarket like Migros wastes food or not.

    Best regards,
    Deniz

    Dear Anja and Nathan

In my opinion, you choosed a very current topic.

Maybe it would also be interesting, if you compare the waste in different times of the year. For example if the amount of waste in Christmas time is much bigger, than in summertime.

I'm loogikon forward to your results.

    Best regards,

    Rahel

    Dear Anja and Nathan

Your topic is very important and need, in my point of view, more attention. It's a problem in the whole world and it isn't something, someone can say it doesn't effects me. Everyone can be more careful about their food.
Maybe you can find a solution for supermarkets.

    Best regards!

    Dear Nathan and Anja,
In my opinion, the food waste is one of the biggest problems we have. People in other countries died because of lack of food and we waste so much. But I think, you should also include private households, because the foodwaste there is also enormous.
    Best Regards
    David
