I've recently been to Chile and visited the so called Hotel Winebox (winebox.valparaiso-hotels.com). This is a hotel made of recycled materials. Shipping containers have been used to build the shape, rooms etc. of the hotel. The owner from Newzealend and his wife were really creative, they built the furniture with several volunteers. They used bathtubs as sofas, wine casks as chairs, wine bottels as lamps but of course the beds are new and very comfortable.
I am a big fan of this hotel, its a great value for our planet to recycle old materials and create something new and very modern! If you are on planning to visit Chile, I would highly suggest and recommend this hotel! For more information check the upper link.
