Imagination food waste in our supermarkets in 100 years

Hello together

Our task for today is to think about how the food waste in supermarkets in 100 years will look like.

We think there won't be any supermarkets in 100 years because everything will be delivered at home. We imagine also that there wouldn’t be food waste because the people are sensiblized to this topic and look on what and how much food they buy.

Organic Farming

" A nation that destroys its soils destroys itself. Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people.”

- Franklin D. Roosevelt

In my initial post ,  i had introduced my idea which includes looking into the agricultural methods used by the farmers in my country currently. By this we will have an idea on whether the farming methods used are harmful or not and while researching for this I had found many articles on the net :-

These are just some of the many articles present out there which More...

Lifecycle of a local product "Interview with a farmer" - Step 3 Experience

On Wednesday 13th November 2019 we interviewed a local farmer, named Martin Keller. He is a orchard grower (= Obstbauer) but also owns and raises cute animals. He took us around and showed us the farm. There were apple and pear trees, apricot trees, plum trees, cherry trees, strawberry and some raspberry bushes. We realized how less we know about apples. The harvest has just finished and will start again in July.More...

Green walls for a green city

Today our Team started to plan the post on dontwastemy.energy. We started Looking for some interesting Topics for our Project post.

First of all, we want to explain what green walls are and where they can be found. Moreover we want to Show, what effects green walls have on the air in Citys. As well we want to contact an architect to learn how a green wall is created and if there are any regulations.

The final summarize of our Topics:

1. What are green walls?

2. What effects do green walls have?

3. How is a green wall created?

4. Are there any regulations to build a green wall?

Here you can find our Project planning outline (as a mind-map):

We are Looking Forward to the Research!

The Agricultural crisis

Agriculture is a major part as it provides the much-needed food products and other materials. But our current agricultural trend is doing nothing but harm the environment, reduce the nutritional value of the plant and deteriorate the natural fertility of the soil. The first part of the project will contain the causes for the crisis such as:

  • Excessive use of chemical fertilizers
  • Over irrigation
  • Destroying large areas of forest land to convert into agricultural area
  • Deteriorates the natural fertility of the soil
  • Reduces the nutritional value of the crop
  • Harmful effects of the use of fertilizers

The second part will contain ways in which we can reduce some of these problems, such as:

  • Educating the farmers on a better and rational way of using fertilizers
  • Organic farming

Organic farming would the main part. While researching on organic farming, I found that there were many old farming techniques which are way cheaper to make and also doesn’t harm the environment. Thus, I found that our ancestors have left us many such methods. Some of the methods that were used back then in India are:

  • Jiwamritha
  • Bijamritha
  • Agnisastra

Feel free to check the video out to get more idea about this project.

I would love to know about any such organic farming techniques that your country may have. And I would also love to hear your opinions on my idea so feel free to comment what you think.

With Regards,

Sivani
